General:
The Hereford Municipal Airport is owned and
operated by the City of Hereford under the direction of the airport director,
Teresa Lyons. The airport has sufficient runway to accommodate business
jets and most all other private aircraft. The airport is an integral
part of the economic development of the City.
Information about the Airport:
The FBO (Fixed Base Operator, i.e. terminal) on the airport is open from 8:00 am
to 5:00 pm, but has free 24 hour call outs. Two pilot lounges, one
meeting room, a kitchenette, a TV, and a computer with internet connection for
checking e-mail or the weather are all available within the FBO. The FBO
also sells pilot charts and oil. Courtesy cars and rentals are available
by reservation.
Hangars are available for rent. The
price is $75 per month, which includes all taxes and electricity.
Tie-downs and hangars are also available for transient traffic. The
first night is free with the purchase of fuel. The second and subsequent
nights are $5 for tie-downs and $10 for hangars.
Both Av Gas and Jet-A are sold,
with the option of over-the-wing or single-point hookups for the Jet-A.
Deaf Smith Aviation, run by Jeff Jones, is
the mechanic shop based on the field.

Short-term objectives:
We have a major Capital Improvement Program project in the works to
completely redo the runway and the taxiways. The projected runway will
be 6200 feet long, 100 feet wide and will have a load bearing capacity of
30,000 lb single axle wheel weight.
