The Hereford Community Center building includes a Banquet Room, Ballroom, Lounge, and three small meeting rooms.

The large, carpeted Banquet Room  can be divided into two smaller rooms with the larger side having a seating of 106 and the smaller seating 60.  When tables are removed, the auditorium seating arrangement will accommodate approximately 250 people.  A sound system, piano, platform, and large projection screen are available in this room. The banquet room kitchen is set up as a catering kitchen and includes 2 refrigerators, a commercial dishwasher, and a large ice machine.  Electric warming carts, dishes and silverware are also available, as well as a large coffeemaker and iced tea urns.

The Ballroom is located in the center of the building and has a seating capacity of 150 banquet style and 175 auditorium.  It has a tile floor that is suitable for dancing, small stage area, and a small kitchen equipped with a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, griddle, and deep-fryer. Warming carts are also available.

Tables and chairs are available for use, but must be set up and taken down for each event.

The Game room is a small meeting room that is normally set up in a classroom style, which will seat approximately 35 – 40.  Locking cabinets are available if anyone wishes to store supplies on a continuous basis. A coffeemaker is available for use.

The Lounge is a carpeted room that opens onto the patio area. It contains a piano, a small serving kitchen, and is set up normally in an auditorium seating style.

It is suitable for small meetings, showers and receptions, and can be entered directly from the outside.  The Lounge is equipped with a crystal punch bowl, plates and cups as well as a coffeemaker. The patio area has picnic tables and a large grassy area.

There are two rooms located off the Lounge that may be used for meetings. A small serving kitchen with a small refrigerator, stove and dishwasher connects them.

Audio/visual equipment available for use at the Community Center includes a TV/VCR, and an Overhead Projector.

The marquee outside the Community Center may be rented for a fee of $10, and can be used for community events.

Rules of Operation

  1. The Hereford Community Center & Nita Lea Community Building are available for use by any individual, group, or commercial enterprise.
  2. Non-profit organizations and entities have priority over any other uses provided the Center has not been previously booked.
  3. Non-profit organizations and fund raisers may use the facility rent-free but will be charged a cleaning fee of $20.00 per hour if they choose not to do their own cleanup. It is requested that all food items be placed in trash containers and taken to the dumpster and restrooms be picked up before leaving the building. Non-profit organizations must show proof of their non-profit eligibility when making reservations.
  4. A cleaning and rental deposit of $250.00 is required from all patrons. Penalties may be assessed for failure to give proper notice of cancellation for the facility reservation.
  5. Keys may be picked up the day of the reservation or on the last business day for weekend or holiday reservations. Keys must be picked up between the hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm at the Community Center Office located at 100 Ave. C. The office will be closed during the noon hour unless arrangements are made in advance. An after hours fee of $15.00 will be assessed for all keys not picked up during office hours.
  6. No alcoholic beverages may be consumed or sold on the properties.
  7. No regularly scheduled church services may be held. Church functions such as receptions, showers, etc., are to be considered private rentals, and the appropriate fees will be charged. Only persons authorized in writing by churches will be allowed to make reservations. The City will provide appropriate forms for this purpose.
  8. The Facilities Director in the office at the Hereford Community Center will conduct all bookings for use of the facilities and keys are to be returned to the office in a timely manner. A night drop box is located on the West Door of the Community Center Building for after hours use.
  9. The Facilities Director will collect all monies. Deposits will be returned upon the return of the key if all conditions have been met.
  10. Individuals are responsible for cleanup after their events. Cleanup fees will be assessed if the building is not left in order (trash in dumpsters, bathrooms picked up, tape on walls & ceilings removed, etc.). Private cleaning service is the responsibility of the renter and arrangements can be made through the Community Center Office. Damages to the facility including vandalism to the inside of the building will be the responsibility of the group using the building at the time. Adequate adult supervision is required for all youth activities. Private Security is encouraged for all dances.

 Non-Profit Organizations may use the Community Center and Nita Lea Community Building at no charge, however a Deposit of $250 is required.

 Private Rentals:

    Ballroom, Banquet Room              $35  per hour

    Lounge, Game room                       $15  per hour

         Maximum per day                     $150

         $250 Deposit required

    Nita Lea Community Building         $35  per hour

            Maximum per day                    $75

$250 Deposit required

 

An after hours fee of $15 will be charged for all non-emergency call-outs.
